Mighty Moments by the Knox County Health Department is a project aimed at highlighting the important roles of family and community when nurturing a baby throughout childhood.
Our hope is that this campaign becomes a go-to resource for families and support systems taking an active role in raising healthy babies, and therefore, healthy families and communities.
The Mighty Moments project is an initiative of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) program. FIMR, funded by the Tennessee Department of Health, is an action-oriented community process that continually assesses, monitors and works to improve service systems and community resources for women, infants and families.
Part of the FIMR process includes reviewing fetal and infant deaths in Knox County to determine preventability and working at the community level to formulate programs and influence policies that lead to improved birth outcomes.
If you have recently experienced the death of a baby during pregnancy, after birth, or up to one year of age, and would like to share your story, please contact us at 865-215-5170.
